Window in the Sky: Poetry Lesson

First the poem is read aloud and the presentation is shown at the same time. There is one image per line. This way you can have a conversation with the students - do they think the images fit the poem? Which image fits best, which one does not?

You can then go over your discussion of the poem using an analysis from Meander Magazine . You can find the poem and its discussion through this resource .

As a processing assignment, the students could choose:

  • or they make a visual presentation for a poem of their choice, such as the intro. They can choose a poem from the poetry collections in the class library.
  • or they themselves write an impressionistic poem based on the discussion from Meander .
