Orthopedagogical research in special education

Researchers and practitioners in healthcare and education need each other.

Practitioners need scientific input to further develop and improve their options for action. Scientists need questions from the field to be able to conduct research that leads to meaningful input.

Special education organization RENN4 has been working intensively for many years with knowledge centers such as the University of Groningen and Hanze University Groningen. RENN4 provides specialized education and secondary special education for pupils with specific needs in the field of learning and behaviour. The goal: to improve educational practice and to bring scientific research and practice closer together.

This special issue of OOP provides insight into the diversity of the type of research we conduct within (secondary) special education. And how this can contribute to educational development at national, provincial and local level.
